Elder Law encompasses many of
the areas of the law I practice. While it can include qualifying
for medicaid and Social Security problems, Elder Law is much
broader, taking in tax motivated gifts, wills, trusts and powers
of attorney. I recommend use of the Power of Attorney. It is
very effective, and continues effective through mental and physical
incapacity of the maker. The Power of Attorney for Health Care
and the Directive to Physicians (Living Will) are often part
of the planning for the management of the affairs and health
of the elderly. |
